Wow, November already. What happened to July? When I was a child I looked forward to Thanksgiving almost as much as Christmas. I love the fall colors of Michigan, my home state. Maple trees turn every color of yellow-green, magenta, rust, gold and brown. REAL maple syrup came from REAL maple trees. Oh, and the black walnuts! A couple weeks ago I found some at Costco, of all places. They are harvested wild. I guess the trees don't do well in a controlled setting. I bake them into oatmeal cookies, banana nut bread, pumpkin bread and toss them on vanilla ice cream. Yum!
So what does all this have to do with pysanka? Color! Some my newest goose eggs are dyed in fall colors. Living in New Mexico I don't get to see vibrant colors as in Michigan. We have trees here but they all seem to turn the same shade of yellow-gold. Please take a few minuets to check them out. Click on the "Goose II" tab and scroll down. Let me know what you think.
