The site has been through some changes since it's creation. After a long time away, I am happy to say I am back on line! The site is still a work in progress.
One major change is including The Manzanita Shop. During my time off I have spent a lot of time wrapping cabochons. Now, I bring them to you.
Hurricane Harvey hit during my trip to Texas. I was south west of Houston. We were never in any real danger, just inconvenienced. My two and a half day stay turned into a ten day adventure. When the flooding receded enough to navigate the roads, I was able to get a flight out of San Antonio back to Albuquerque.
One week after returning home, I participated in the Alameda Studio Tour. This weekend is the Belen Fall Art Show. My extended trip to Texas really put me behind preparation for the shows and working on this site.
I have new items to post. Please visit again soon! Comments on this blog post are read daily. I'd love to hear from you.
From time to time we all feel the need for change. For me it is in the spring. Perhaps because it is a time of renewal. In New Mexico spring brings wind and rain. Preferably in that order. Wind stirs up dirt and sand and the rain washes it away.
I have decided to include my non egg jewelry on my web site. I haven't kept up with this site as well as I want to. Two Etsy Shops and a web site take a large chunk of my time to maintain properly. Perfectionist that I am, I like things neat and tidy. So, I will be posting more jewelry in the future. Please visit often. And as always, your comments are welcomed.
I don't usually post personal information. Just want to let you know why my site has not been updated or new items added over the last few months. Last November I was in a car accident that crushed and ruptured a vertebrae. The usual course of treatment didn't produce healing. Surgery last October worsened the situation. Now I am preparing for major surgery. Recovery time will be several months. I will continue to monitor my site and email. If you have any questions about the items posted here or on my Etsy Shop, please send me a note and I will get back to you. Thank you for your continued support.
Yes, fall is here. I grew up in Michigan. I now live in New Mexico. Fall is my favorite time of year. Fall is different in the desert. I miss the warm colors the leaves transform to. NM has trees. Not the wide variety of the Midwest. The air is different here too. It lacks the crispness of a MI fall. What makes NM attractive is what it doesn't have. Tow feet of snow in the driveway! Soon, Christmas trees will be going up in homes, stockings hung on the fireplace, shopping lists get longer as the day draws near. Ah yes. Shopping.
Many of us do a lot of shopping online. Like here at Beautiful Eggs by Jane. It's easy. You don't have to get dressed, do hair or makeup, 1/4 tank of gas is not important, a bathroom is always within walking distance and you don't have to hire someone to watch the kids or let the dog out. How easy is that?
Thanks for stopping by. Come back soon!
As of September 9, 2013 Faberjane Eggs has been changed to Beautiful Eggs by Jane Chevalier. I love the play on words Faberjane has. To avoid any confusion between Faberjane and Faberge Eggs I decided to change the name. Let me know what you think!
I's been a long time since I posted. All artists at one time or another have a slump or down period. I have not been inspired to create any new designs.
I will be at the Albuquerque Folk Festival at Balloon Fiesta Park. My booth will be in the Balloon Museum. This will mark my third year. It's only one day....a long one!
Next week I need to get ready for the next art show. Deadline for entries is June 15. Yikes! The hardest part for me is to decide which eggs to enter. Of course I want to send them all in hopes of at least one of them would place (get a ribbon).
Please feel free to add your comments. It's lonely out here posing all by myself!
What's new is I am still recovering from an auto accident from November 24, 2013. Just about healed. Oh, but wait. Easter is coming soon. I will be posting a small selection of Easter Eggs on the Faberjane Eggs home page. Watch for them!
The new year is already proving to be an opportunity for change. My new year goal for 2013 was to dedicate to finding my own artistic egg "style". I think I made great progress. I am pleased with several of my new designs and have variations on them as well. Not all have been made public. Have to save something!
My new year goal for 2014 is to take The Masters Program offered by International Egg Art Guild. Levels of egg art mastery are Novice, Intermediate, Master, Master of Egg Art and Grand Master. My goal is humble. I'd be happy if I could make Intermediate by late this year. I have not read all the details yet. Perhaps after reading through the fine print I will be happy with Novice! More on that later.
My wish for you all is to have a safe and healthy year. May you be filled with fond memories to cherish a life time. May God grant you your heart's desire.
Thank you for the Birthday Wishes. I am just now reading them. Last Sunday on my our to pack up my booth at Festival of the Cranes Fine Art Show in Socorro, Maddie and I had an accident.
It had snowed the night before. I was driving about 45 when we came upon a small white car, no lights, driving about 20 in the center of the road. My choice was either slam on the brake and spin or try to pass. A quick decision was made to try to pass. I hit a patch of ice and spun around off the right side of the road. We hit a ditch, bounced and hit anther one and flipped our F150 diesel van onto the driver's side. The van is totaled. Maddie wasn't injured at all. I have a compressor fracture of the T11 vertebrae. I am in a body cast and will be for the next 2-6 months.
Your prayers are much appreciated. We are both fortunate the accident wasn't worse. I am thankful the other car wasn't involved.
I have just added another page...Where To Find Faberjane Eggs. It's a list of current art shows I an involved in and art galleries that carry Faberjane Eggs.
